devour me / devour me

sleigh bells might have sparked disappointment, or at least confusion among all of us after a collective anticipation initiated by the responses to their rather huge album trailer. when the songs came out, it was as if all the question marks in the world had been set free, hovering over our heads while we listened to alexis krauss joining the mass cult of "born [insert an infinitive or a particularly favored way here]", banging melodies firmly and sometimes mildly against the contrastingly loud pumping of the electric guitar and the drums. simply, i don't quite get the new sleigh bells. maybe it's just me. but i've found a cure to keep the bells ringing. school of seven bells' new album, ghostory, provides a fresh start to kick my day with. i've been enjoying their new album, which overall sounds less astral compared to their previous albums, but not less stellarand it's easier on the ears & catchier to sing-shout to lest you'll be attending their show in near future.
