Show off your hands, how many of you actually still own a sacred book full of secrecy, which is commonly called diary?

I believe that would only make a negligible proportion, some would say,"Diary is a thing of past," or, "I used to, when I was a child," or, "Come on, I've got enough things to settle down. Anyway, we live now in an advanced world. Keyboard is just a type away and much more practical than scribbling all over blank pages, randomly but nothing comes out in the end. Tell me you're kidding."

Without any disrespect intended to all grown-ups on Earth, I still sometimes think Grown-ups are very odd, and I am glad that Le Petit Prince, the most translated book in the French language, confirms it. What makes it confirmed is one of my favourite lines: if you say to the grown-ups: 'I've seen a lovely house made of pink brick, with geraniums in the window and doves over the roofs', they are unable to picture such a house. You must say: 'I saw a house that cost a hundred thousand francs.' Then they cry out: 'Oh, how pretty!' That's why I love reading children's and young adults' book, rather than enthralling adventure book, thrilling science fiction, or melancholy tear-jerker love story. The moral lying beneath is like a morse code, full of beautifully written vague sarcasm, without taking out the essentials. They put the complex into simple, without making it any simpler. Intended to children, but the fact that it sends some significant morals to the adults is what encourages me to keep on reading.

Grown-ups do not imagine. They give up their dreams. They let their dreams swept away. They tend to be serious. They love figures, more than anything in the world. That's why, I'm always afraid of getting old. Oh, how could I define these feelings!

But I can't keep on complaining. I, too, inevitably, will be getting old. I can't deny that sometimes I'm getting into figures, imagining about them, using maths formula taught in school to calculate how much I should earn in future, how many cars I want to own, how much does my future summerhouse will cost. Slowly, I'm developing myself into the a typical grown-up self that I dislike. I would scarcely remember the value, importance, essential part of life. But believe me, there's always a way to prevent something, or at least, slow down its process. Diary is one of them.

With it, diary, to distinguish between one day and another (because none of them are the same), becomes possible and easier. I have a quite weak memory-they say memory type B- that's why diary is one of my best companions. Reading through it is always fascinating, too. Not only do I recount things and events happening in particular length of time, I also conceive things which were imponderable before. You know, contemplating about them is one of my favourites, you can't really depict the particular taste of feeling of particular moment, nor can you transfer the information to the others. That makes diary is a super personal thing, even when people look into it, they are not as interested as you are because they don't really know how it feels. Sometimes it lasts endlessly, day to day, and you still can't take the smile off your face. It's not being nostalgic though, because what I refer here is the moments, invaluable ones, that are happening when you least expect it and they will keep on cropping up in your life. They don't happen just for once. That's why I think recording them into words, in your own handwriting, is an experience as priceless as the event itself.

Don't let them lose. Let your dreams flow away, your words are just manifestation of them. It's never been too late when it comes to dreams.

Go and grab your book, or draft paper, or tissue paper, or whatever lying beside you as long as it is able to supply as a writing surface. It doesn't have to be pages long, sometimes a single sentence is more capable to portray mixed up feelings than one whole page. You don't have to be good at writing, and you can even just do drawing. All you have to do is doing it wholeheartedly, without any doubt that all your efforts are really worthwhile.

one thing which I believe I might by no means understand.
It sort of feels too complicated and very vast
