based on self-forced, unkeen observation last year
the greatest challenge to the the pure enjoyment of the festival was water, which basically can be broken down into:
1) thirst
2) nature's call (i didn't get to try their portable toilets but 8 out of 10 these smurf plastic cubicles are unpleasant, and exhaustingly unreliable)
things to bring along:
1) yourself
2) anything to cover yourself (including a poncho if you're uncomfortable with cheap tardy constantly crackling fragile ponchos (i myself don't have much problem with them))
3) sturdy shoes, NO HEELS and other kind of whatnot babies unless you're willing to drag them + your now separated bare feet + imminent ache everywhere
4) common sense
5) cameras are ok, but your mind needs to bear the fact that all kinds of risks (rain, storm, slippery fingers, mad excited crowd) are in your hands

this is the first time ever in the history of singapore laneway (or, since 2011) that two stages are set side by side. the weird thing i just noticed was that the bands in stages one and two won't play at the same time and then it began to make sense when i figured out that the stages are neighboring each other. and when i recalled last year's experience the last piece of puzzle came into place: it takes time to prepare one set after another! so i guess we don't have to space-shift much tomorrow, or give ourselves a hard time deciding which acts will hold more worth to watch.
but if i had to do so, these would be my picks:
CULTS
CHAIRLIFT
GIRLS (have watched the drums last year)
TWIN SHADOW
THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART
FEIST (tough decision, i REALLY love toro y moi esp circa 'causers of this' but his live performance was kind of blergh, via disappointing youtube live footage)
M83
see you in your dirty soaked almost sweat-liquid form tomorrow!
an important slack cut for me
